AI Tool For X
How it works

How it works

One job, one tool to start with, and an honest account of when to use something else.

The unit

Every page answers one job: a value of X. We name one tool to start with, list the situations where a different tool is the better choice, and show the alternatives underneath. Different ways of describing the same job all lead to that one page through search.

What each page rests on

For each job we research the tools that do it: each tool's own documentation and description of what it does, its inputs and outputs, and its pricing as published or marked as not published. For some jobs we also draw on public reviews. We have not tested every tool hands-on, and pages do not claim we did. Each page ends with a note on what it is based on and when it was last checked.

The shape of a page

Each page names the tool to use and says what it is best for, what you put in, and what you get out. Then it tells you when to use something else, and lists alternatives for cases where another tool fits your situation better. The goal is a fast, useful answer for the specific job, not a directory to sort through.

When we are unsure

If you describe a job we have not covered yet, we tell you there is no exact answer and point you to the nearest jobs we do cover. We would rather say "not yet" than invent a recommendation.
